The Clothesline Ribbon Project
Commemoration on Community and Campus Crimes
of Sexual Violence
Though reluctantly packed up when torrential rains came around 1PM, the Day of Remembrance Ribbon Project on Florida Tech Campus in Melbourne, FL was a huge success. All the ribbons were represented on the line. Many people attached notes commemorating themselves or others for wives, girlfriends, daughters, or boys and girls they work with. Tables with information, as well as community resources and representatives from campus security and the state attorneys office, were on hand with music. Thank you to everyone who worked on the project and special thanks to Florida Tech for hosting the event! The event would not have been possible without the tireless leadership of Mary Atkins of NOW, Julie Parker, President of Psi Chi, and Dr. Juanita Baker (Julie and Juanita, pictured below), as well as the members of the

(sexual assault, rape, date rape)

(sexual murder)
Blue for child sexual abuse

Yellow
for sexual harassment (in the office, school, or street)
"sexual harassment caused me to drop out of college 30 years ago." "Sweet & Innocent. It happened on campus. 18 yrs. old."
Orange
for genital mutilation
To raise awareness of these issues.
